Write what you need to see. Become what you were called to be.
On this last day of February, I find myself reflecting on what this month signifies to me. Growing up, February was an active month for showing love to others in the form of programs, celebrations, and history lessons. No regrets in that because celebrating others and uplifting the lesser-known voices was instilled in me. At the same time, loving one’s self was never mentioned nor taught.
God is the primary source of love in action, and His sacrifice of life through Jesus Christ cannot be paralleled. When we learn about the stories and sacrifices made by those generations before us, we learn of braving life’s journey in the face of rejection, conflict, and isolation. Yet they forged ahead. They didn’t wait for validation of the inner drive they possessed. They didn’t explain their journey or purpose to others in hopes of converting them or changing their views. Still, they walked in their purpose and in their calling.
To some, Jesus Christ was a mere man not to be martyred. To others, his mother Mary is elevated and praised. To others, they root their believes in God having a certain gender or finite qualities. God could be swayed by the thoughts and opinions of humans, those He created and imagined first in His mind. He could be short tempered and rush to judgment. But He is not, and He does not.
Who am I to contradict His calling on my life? Am I to permit the judgment of others to become my own mantra? God forbid. Instead, I implore you to look to the One who gives breath of life and establishes His plan and purpose individually. It is not a conference call with a consensus or group vote that determines your outcome. It is divinely endowed.
The current events and weather around us seems to create shock and awe daily. Yet it gives us topics of conversation that would otherwise leave us to talk about the real issues and values that matter. On this last day of February 2026, I recommit to living in the purpose and plan that God has for me. To write what I need to see. Become the vessel who honors God in my every decision and seeks His counsel for His divine will in my life.
What steps will I take? What moves will I make? I will open my ears and my heart to the One who created me and envelopes His love in a way that cannot be compared. His love in action has never ceased to amazed me, and I have yet to find any one who deserves my love and devotion more.
There are times and seasons, and as my dad would often say, “This too shall pass.” I am a witness that it does pass. Maybe not in the time frame we desire, but God’s time is ALWAYS the right time. Let us become what God called us to be.
“And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.”
